Under a sky heavy with the threat of rain, the kingdoms of the Tyrazonian Empire bristle with unease. Rumors, dark and urgent, sweep through the realm. Tales abound of cursed shadows in Hellgrim, where the rebellion is locked in a grim struggle against the Empire's grasp, even with the intervention of Vypool's heroes. The city's fate hangs by a thread—will the Empire’s control endure, or will the rebellion achieve the impossible? No one knows, but even the shadows themselves seem to favor the Baron of Despair, laying blood magic traps and summoning unseen phantoms that report to the elusive Watcher, bound by Osuria's ancient curse.
Meanwhile, Obyr, once a prosperous coastal city on the empire's frontier, has plunged into turmoil. In a violent uprising, prisoners were freed from Obyr’s feared prison, The Black Maw, and have since gathered into a new faction, seizing control of over half the city. The city guard is stretched thin, unable to quell the rebellion, hindered further by a wave of undead that rise ceaselessly. Yet the city’s council remains silent, their absence an unsettling omen of deeper chaos.
Far beneath the surface, in the depths of the Sunless Sea, a latent power stirs. Within the fortress of Great Shobath, forces long dormant awaken, sensing threats and enemies closing in upon them. This shadowed stronghold pulses with dark energy, as if anticipating a reckoning. Yet, amidst this dark tide, faint beacons of hope flicker. Vypool’s protective shield now shelters a new community, allowing them to flourish under its aegis. The White Lotus has named a new leader, uniting them under a vision of change. Even the Moor Plag—the notorious swamp of the gahsts—has begun its fated migration again, leaving behind nutrient-rich soil that nearby farmers rely on for their survival.
The path ahead is treacherous, fraught with hidden dangers and powerful foes waiting to strike from the shadows. How will our heroes endure? The next steps are theirs to take—peril and dark forces awaiting them at every turn.
